About the Building

Along with the Commerce Building and The Westbrook, The Cassidy is part of a trinity of new buildings constructed in Sundance Square in recent years. At 99,000 square feet, The Cassidy is the largest of the three new buildings.

The Trust Building, which is part of The Cassidy, has frontage on West Third and Houston Streets and takes cues from Chicago architecture at the turn of the 20th century.

The façade for The Cassidy faces West Third and Throckmorton Streets, and is influenced by Danish architecture from the early part of the 20th century, incorporating horizontal ribbons into a taut brick façade.

The six-story building is shaped like an “L” with retail and restaurants on the ground floor, Class A office space on floors two through five, and six luxury penthouse apartments on the top floor. Of the 99,000 square feet, 12,196 is for ground-floor retail/restaurant space and 12,187 for luxury residential space.

The one and two bedroom units on the top floor feature outdoor terraces with floor-to-ceiling glass walls and sweeping views of Sundance Square and the entire city. They are connected to the Sanger Lofts at 222 West Fourth Street.

Each of the six penthouse apartments are uniquely configured to capture the wonderful views of the adjacent Sundance neighborhood and the sweeping Texas prairie beyond.  Every element in the design, from the simple white ceilings to the crisply detailed door jambs to the large glass windows, is designed to complement the stunning views. The combined living/dining/kitchen spaces are designed to accommodate the modern living and entertaining needs of urban dwellers.  The materials, colors and details are a sophisticated yet warm mix of natural materials (American walnut, Italian marble, Brazilian granite) that feel both timeless and bespoke. In the kitchens, appliances are largely hidden in the cabinetry so that while not in use, the kitchen itself becomes a piece of furniture as an extension of the larger living space.  The bathrooms are minimally detailed but appointed with materials luxurious to both eye and touch.  Built-in wardrobes provide voluminous storage while maintaining the clean lines prevalent throughout the design.  The noticeable horizontal wood graining in the cabinets and closets takes its precedence from the horizontality of the horizon that are constant views from each apartment.

Street level retail tenant in the Trust Building is Yours Truly, featuring a fabulous collection of women’s apparel, cosmetics, gifts, and jewelry.  Cassidy tenants include Istanbul Restaurant and Charles Schwab, Inc.
